The Valcyn Asylum Portal is a place for like-minded friends who have come together to share their thoughts, ideas, daydreams, stories, et cetera.
Please feel free to kick back, enjoy the visit, take a nap or two and welcome to the forum, whilst keeping in mind the following.....are bannable offenses:
1.0 Thou shalt not insult thy neighbor's straight jacket--their choice of game play, their taste in music, et cetera. HOWEVER....All opinions held about any subject, as long as it is not a direct insult to the person discussing said subject (ie an okay statement "I can't stand SOE because of what they did to SWG, the NGE sucked." A NOT okay statement "you know, since you're still playing SWG you must be a complete moron.") Opinions are welcome, insults are not......leading me to #2.
2.0 Thou shalt not insult one another using veiled comments, no matter what the topic. Continued use of such tactics will be considered rude and will result in immediate banning. In other words, if you know you're a smart ass, leave the smart ass at home. We don't need it here inciting drama.
3.0 Keep in mind we all wake up in bad moods. No one person can, at all times, know what is going on within another person's private life. Give people the benefit of the doubt unless, or until, a pattern is established then approach an admin. HOWEVER, the abuse of this "Excuse" to lash out at other board members is not acceptable either.
4.0 If you disagree with a topic or have an issue with an individual, take it to PM IMMEDIATELY!!! Do not hash it out in this forum. Those who are not bickering do not want to see the squabble. You're not here to entertain us with drama. Leave the drama to the PMs and keep it off the board, period. All posts containing over the top bickering, or drama, or massive amounts of arguing amongst individual parties WILL BE DELETED immediately. Let's keep our atmosphere safe for the most part. Disagreements are acceptable....DRAMA is not!
5.0 We are NOT here to cater to your delicate dispositions. This is a diverse group with vastly varying opinions. I am not Jiminy Cricket and my admin are not the FCC. We will NOT monitor what you think appropriate to read and what you do not. If you don't like a topic, DON'T READ IT!! Simple.
6.0 You WILL encounter subjects and topics here that could possibly offend you. If you choose to open said messages, you and you alone are responsible for any reaction you may have toward it. If you are not capable of handling this responsibility, then perhaps this is not the board for you.
7.0 This being said...offense is based on perception. We should all watch our own reactions to posts and be proactive instead of reactive to any given situation. READ a whole post in its entirety before going off half cocked. Read the post more than once to assure yourself you have it correctly. If you doubt yourself in anyway ask a NEUTRAL friend's opinion in the matter. It us up to EACH of us to make our own experience here in VA a happy one.
